Charlie has a masters degree in marriage and family counseling and was a youth and marriage pastor for over 20 years until he helped start Veritas Christian Study Abroad to involve college students in missions on 4 continents. He has always loved teaching the next generation and is convinced that parents are the most significant spiritual game-changers in a child’s life. Charlie and his wife of 30 years, Crystal, have 4 children Wendy, Zachary, Emily, and Audrey and one son-in-law, Kylon. In January 2017, they welcomed their first grandson, Beckett Atteberry, to the world! Charlie and his family reside in Lakeway, TX.
Micah has a passion for helping the lost, the least and lonely find the hope that Jesus brings. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business and an Associate’s degree in Recording/Sound Engineering. Micah and his wife Vanessa have been married for nearly 18 years and have two children, Austin and Addison. Micah loves music, music production as well as building up and inspiring musicians to use their gifts as an outlet for God’s glory. The Petrea family reside in the small (not really) town of Buda.

If there is one word that best describes our Journey it is “Grace”. This word grace is Gods favour towards the unworthy. Grace is a gift and therefore nothing is owed in return for this free gift God gives us. A gift costs the receiver nothing but the giver everything. Once we receive a gift it is permanent and it cannot be taken away.
The giver becomes poorer so the recipient can become richer. This generous and voluntary exchange from the giver to the recipient is visible in 2 Corinthians 8:9: “You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake, he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”
Grace does not stop once we are saved; God is gracious to us for the rest of our lives, working within and upon us.
And so we are Alive by Grace.
Another word that defines our journey is HOPE.
We were both broken and lost just making a bigger mess of the mess we found ourselves in but then we saw that there was Hope for us to be restored and made whole again, to find our purpose, feel loved, forgiven and healed.
“…and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
This became a reality in our lives, as God connected our paths in a rehabilitation centre in 1999. Here we are 19 years later having said yes to God’s call to lead CLT into the future.
When we attended Cornerstone Church in Johannesburg, we felt very certain that we were definitely not called to be on the eldership team or that we would ever leave South Africa.
To cut a long story short, our leaders saw in us what we could not see for ourselves and for that we will always be so grateful.
We joined the eldership team in February 2015 and Marco felt certain that if God ever called us anywhere it would be to The USA. The confirmations started happening much sooner than expected and by June 2016 it became very clear that our family was being called by the Lord to Austin, Texas and to top it all off to plant a church!
God opened miraculous doors for us and has been so faithful as we have journeyed to get to this point.
We arrived in Austin, the Hill country, June 2018.
We are trusting God to lead us as He builds His church. We feel unqualified but we know that we are where we are meant to be and we are excited to see what God is doing in Austin and across the world.
We believe all Christians have been born for such a time as this. We anticipate great revivals and shakings around the world.
If God has asked you to do something for Him we encourage you to say “Yes Lord”
He will open all the doors in His beautiful timing, it all starts with a surrendered heart that is willing to say yes!
Psalms 62:5-8 ESV
“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah”
