Believers who invest their hearts, time, families and finances in the building of a local church deserve to have confidence in church leadership.  People are looking for leaders who conduct themselves with integrity and respect when making decisions that affect their lives.

Therefore, The Church at Lake Travis allows pastoral leadership in ministry matters, internal board control in major financial matters and spiritual oversight, and external elder oversight (The Free Methodist River Conference Superintendent Dennis Jeffrey) for overseeing the pastors.

We are guided by staff, shepherded by our board, guarded by our superintendent, and gifted by partnership. Because of this balance, the believers at CLT are free to grow in faith and in relationships within the body, without the burden of an over-extensive church "government."

1 Peter 5:1-4 // So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
